Event management software (EMS) solutions provide marketers with a range of technical support to improve the planning and organization of events. Moreover, users can manage attendees’ pre-, at- and post-event experience and improve contextual data gathering with which to execute post event tracking and nurture. The list of functionality expected within EMS systems includes – but is not limited to – items such as location selection, event definition, pre-event marketing, registration management, lodging, attendee check-in and event budgeting. EMS solutions will continue to support the backbone platform for event organization, but increasingly a range of applications designed to improve specific aspects of the attendee experience or vendor insight are also available.
