Contact data management technology helps users access, validate, transform and secure their current contact data. Through the use of self-service options, these technologies allow organizations to acquire, maintain and leverage information about individuals they’ve identified as targets for demand creation. In addition to basic demographic and firmagraphic information, organizations now frequently require persona-related data (e.g. a contact’s challenges, key initiatives and watering holes). Similarly, the scope of data management continues to expand beyond quality to incorporate data unification and ease of access. Available self-service options allow for data health checks, contact acquisition and ongoing maintenance. Data health checks require evaluating contact records for completeness and accuracy and may include a white-space analysis showing additional missing contacts for particular titles. Contact acquisition provides contact names and related information based on parameters supplied by the organization. Some technologies allow for the scheduling of ongoing maintenance whereby the organization updates all or part of its contact database. This includes cleansing data and appending missing information.
